RETA-Training Institute (RETA-TI), founded in 2019, is a dedicated initiative to address workforce development and education within the industrial refrigeration industry. Led by a cross-section of volunteers, including the President, Aer Teale, the board aims at creating and supporting programs that cater to various demographic groups with the purpose of facilitating their engagement in the industrial refrigeration industry.
RETA-TI initiated three primary programs: REDWHITEandCOOL, Women in Natural Refrigeration (WiNR), and Youth and Young Adults (YAYA).
REDWHITEandCOOL focuses on recruiting transitioning military service members and employing their skills in the industrial refrigeration field. This program aims at providing a smooth transition to civilian life for these individuals and leveraging their ability to improvise, adapt, and overcome in the industrial refrigeration setting.
WiNR is dedicated to uplifting the careers of women in natural refrigeration, engineering, and skilled trades. It supports success through networking, mentoring, and education and works to enhance recruitment, development, inspiration, advocacy, and empowerment of women in the industry.
The YAYA program promotes industrial refrigeration operator and technician professions among the youth and young adults. It establishes collaborative alliances with public-private partnerships between school systems, trade schools, and the industry, highlighting promising careers in the industrial refrigeration sector.
RETA-TI seeks to expand these programs as they gain traction, funding, and results. Its core objective is to create educational opportunities, certify program participants, and assist them in joining the industry, thus developing leadership, skills, and sound knowledge in industrial refrigeration.
Trades are the future and provide an essential service for which there will always be a need.
Working in a skilled trade provides a solid income and opportunities for growth.
